Fun, but short and not highly replyable
I picked up The Cave on sale for CDN$1.19 so I certainly can’t complain about value for money. The game is short, the puzzles are alternatively frustrating (there’s not even a clue that you’e supposed to switch views and switch characters at one point, so you’re basically just thrashing around,) the sense of humour is good and the graphics are great. Having finished it once, there’s not much incentive to run it again—the puzzles shift depending on the characters you choose, but the core remains the same.
So, if you’re looking for cheap simple fun—great. If you’re looking for something truly puzzling, I’d suggest looking elsewhere. World Of Goo is more challenging, and has a higher replay factor (to use just one example.)
